Sony Pictures hack 2014 (introduction)
This case study will talk about the Sony Pictures hacking incident that took place in 2014. It all started when Sony, an entertainment company, agreed to distribute the interview movie. The interview is a comedy movie about the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, which was found offending by the North Korean government. They even asked to cancel it and described releasing it as an “act of war “(McCurry, 2014). However, Sony did not listen to these threats, which had led to a huge cyberattack against them. Thus, this case study will go deep into what happened to Sony corporation and analyse the malware attacks they received.
